What Areas of the Body Can CoolSculpting Target?

It sounds like science fiction, but the science behind CoolSculpting is anything but make-believe. Simply put, CoolSculpting’s breakthrough technology freezes away fat in the areas you need it most. Whether it’s hard-to-exercise places like a double chin, stubborn fat on your thighs that resists all diet and exercise efforts, or everything in between, CoolSculpting at Rejuve Med-Spa can target problem fat pockets and sculpt a whole new you.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

Fat cells love other fat cells. It’s why they congregate in pockets around the body. Interestingly, the number of fat cells we have doesn’t fluctuate very much, only their size and shape. So when our weight fluctuates, fat cells get bigger with gains, and shrink when we lose. CoolSculpting, however, also loves fat cells. The CoolSculpting technology targets adipose tissue and lowers these cells to a temperature they cannot tolerate, resulting in their destruction. The surrounding tissues are left unharmed by the process, and the body’s lymphatic system then filters out the dead cells through our own natural elimination procedures.

What Areas Can CoolSculpting Treat?

The CoolSculpting system is versatile, designed to fit a variety of areas on the body. The FDA has approved CoolSculpting treatments for the following areas:

  • Abdomen and flanks
  • Submental area (double chin)
  • Inner thighs
  • Outer thighs
  • Back
  • Beneath the buttocks (also called the “banana roll”)
  • Upper arm
  • Around the bra line

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

When the body filters out fat cells crystalized by the CoolSculpting system, they aren’t replaced. Those fat cells are gone for good. For some patients, one treatment is all they need to achieve a body contour they’re proud to show off. For others, 2 or sometimes 3 treatments are necessary to reach their goals and gain back the confidence unwanted fat pockets have stolen. You can enjoy your new shape for years to come without maintenance treatments, provided you subscribe to a healthy lifestyle.

Am I a Good Candidate?

CoolSculpting is not FDA-approved as a weight loss plan, nor is it designed to help resolve obesity. For patients who are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight, however, CoolSculpting is a surefire way to slim the hips, reduce the love handles, or thin the thighs.

Results and Downtime

One of the best parts about a CoolSculpting treatment plan is the lack of downtime. With no adverse or visible side effects, you may return to your active lifestyle immediately. Because the body needs time to filter out the dead fat cells, results are not immediately visible. Contour improvements become noticeable approximately 3 weeks after treatment, but the most dramatic results come around the 2-month mark. Your body will continue to filter out fat cells for 4-6 months following treatment.

Rejuve Med-Spa’s expertise is unrivaled. Rejuve Med-Spa is one of those clinics, and we learned every aspect of CoolSculpting. Our staff take a 360-degree approach to creating the CoolSculpting treatment plan for each patient’s unique needs.
