Is a Chemical Peel or Microdermabrasion Right for Me?

Skin rejuvenation is one of the main concerns regarding beauty and health. Hyperpigmentation, acne, scarring, sun damage, and other concerns are common for those wanting to improve their facial appearance. Chemical peels and microdermabrasion can provide the sought-after skin restoration for many of our clients at Rejuve Med-Spa.

What is a Chemical Peel?

At Rejuve, we use medical-grade chemical peels for all skin types, tones, and ages. Chemical peels are a minimally invasive exfoliation to encourage the shedding of damaged skin cells on the outer layers. The newer cells underneath multiply, boosting collagen production and hydrating your skin.

There are different depths of chemical peels depending on your skin goals. Deeper peels have longer peeling phases but provide more dramatic results. We recommend the Illuminize Peel for gentler treatment with minimal irritation for first-time clients.

What is Microdermabrasion?

Rejuve’s microdermabrasion treatment is unlike any other for combatting sun damage, acne, and scarring through a relaxing spa treatment. They are often used as an alternative to chemical peels for their non-invasive techniques. Using the DiamondTome™ Resurfacing System, we exfoliate the outer layer of skin to remove dead cells.

The natural diamond tip gently exfoliates away dead cells while softening irregularities with progression rather than aggression. Furthermore, the treatment stimulates vascular circulation, bringing beneficial blood flow to the surface for a glowing complexion.

During your first appointment, we at Rejuve use a state-of-the-art Visia skin analysis to determine the most effective treatment for your concerns. The multi-spectrum system allows us to see a 3D picture of your skin for detailed assessment.

A consultation at Rejuve Med-Spa is best to determine the best treatment for you. Chemical peels may provide more extensive results with fewer treatments but often require some downtime. Microabrasions often need 6 to 8 treatments for ideal results.

How Long Do Results Last for Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion?

Chemical peels depend on the depth of the peel. You may want maintenance treatments for lighter peels every 2 to 5 weeks, while deeper peels may only need treatments every few months or longer. Those using fibroblasts may see results for longer.

Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation treatment requiring 6 to 8 treatments for ideal results in managing pigmentation, melasma, and other skin discolorations. Maintenance treatments are recommended every few months after your final treatment.

I am currently undergoing a series of laser treatments with Kinsey and I couldn’t be more pleased. She is professional and always sets me at ease. I highly recommend Rejuve.
