How Does a Chemical Peel Work?

Rejuve Med-Spa can provide a variety of skin rejuvenation treatments for patients. Skin rejuvenation is popular as it can help to undo some of the various imperfections you may have. In effect, it gives you a chance to breathe new life into your skin. While plenty of treatments come under this category, we’d like to talk to you about chemical peels.

How Chemical Peels Work

A chemical peel is made of a solution of different rejuvenating chemicals. An acid usually makes up the majority of the solution, and it is applied to your face. This chemical solution is then left on your face for a set amount of time, where it begins to take effect. After a while, the acid in the solution encourages the skin to start peeling. From here, the skin hardens and can be peeled off, revealing a fresh layer beneath. By doing this, you’re effectively removing imperfections and uncovering clearer/healthier skin beneath.

Types of Chemical Peels

We offer lots of chemical peels for patients, and each one is used to target specific concerns. The strength of the peels can vary as well – the stronger the peel, the more effective it is, but it can also be used less often

Here are the options we provide:

The Illuminize Peel

The Illuminize Peel is a gentle option that’s perfect for beginners. As a light peel, it provides superficial skin resurfacing to smooth out your skin and make it more vibrant.

The Vitalize Peel

A slightly deeper option that’s incredibly popular with our patients. Vitalize works well on all skin types and does a fantastic job of reducing the visible signs of aging. It also helps to get rid of acne scars and similar facial imperfections. There is a 2-3 day peeling phase with this option, but it reveals revitalized skin beneath.

The Rejuvenize Peel

Rejuvenize works in the same way as Vitalize but is a tad stronger. Therefore, it sinks deeper into the skin and can build on the benefits of Vitalize. With this option, the peeling phase is 3-4 days, and the results are immaculate.

The RevePeel

A moderate peel that specifically targets hyperpigmentation, age spots, and acne scars. It can be used on your face, neck, or chest, and is proven to deliver glowing results.

Enlighten RX Peel

Lastly, we have the Enlighten RX Peel, which we recommend using after spending lots of time in the sun. It’s actually a 28-day program, with a specific focus on removing pigment in the skin. Expect to see impressive improvements in your overall complexion when you select this option.

Am I a Candidate for Chemical Peels?

Anyone with skin imperfections or concerns can be a candidate for a chemical peel. However, the type of peel you’re suitable for will depend on your experience with this treatment, as well as the problems you want to tackle. Complete newbies are advised to try light peels before graduating to the deeper options. If your issues run quite deep and are moderate/severe, you will be a better candidate for the moderate/strong chemical peel options.

I am currently undergoing a series of laser treatments with Kinsey and I couldn’t be more pleased. She is professional and always sets me at ease. I highly recommend Rejuve.
