Top 3 PRP Treatments

The effects of aging can leave your skin, hair, and other tissues with less ability to regenerate. As a result, you may experience lines and wrinkles, thinning hair, and intimate issues. PRP can improve growth and healing using platelets from your blood. This treatment has many uses in medicine and aesthetics.

What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is created by spinning a sample of your blood in a centrifuge. This spinning separates the blood into layers. Blood cells separate, leaving a layer of liquid called plasma. Platelets, a type of blood cell that produces healing and growth factors, concentrate in this layer, and your Rejuve Med-Spa provider injects or applies this PRP as a treatment.

Top 3 PRP Treatments

PRP therapy is used in medicine to treat a variety of conditions, including muscle and joint injuries. It works almost anywhere that providers want to promote new cell growth and speed healing. These are our three favorite uses for PRP:

Skin Rejuvenation

At Rejuve Med-Spa, we can apply PRP after microneedling for deep absorption. This PRP will help your skin heal quickly and improve your results. We can also inject PRP directly into areas of particular concern. When injected into wrinkles or sunken areas, PRP promotes collagen development that naturally lifts and smooths them.

Hair Restoration

Genetics, age, and poor scalp health can cause hair follicles to become inactive. PRP improves scalp health and reactivates dormant follicles to grow new hair. It also promotes new blood vessel growth, supplying the scalp with oxygen and nutrients. Unlike many hair restoration treatments, PRP requires minimal downtime and uses no medications.

The O Shot

Vaginal tissues experience the effects of aging just like your face and scalp. You may experience dryness, discomfort, and lack of enjoyment during intimacy. The tissues that support your bladder can also weaken, leading to leaks. PRP injections, often called the O Shot, rejuvenate vaginal tissues for better lubrication, sensation, and bladder control.

Is There Any Downtime With PRP?

PRP treatments generally require no downtime. If you have PRP injections, you will usually notice no after-effects. Microneedling with PRP will result in a day or two of redness and skin sensitivity but has less downtime than microneedling alone. Hair restoration treatment can require several injections to the scalp in one session. As a result, your scalp may feel sore and sensitive for a few days. Since PRP comes from your blood, the risk of side effects is extremely low.

Am I a Good Candidate for PRP Therapy?

PRP works safely for almost anyone. Good candidates want to treat wrinkles, thinning hair, or other issues with minimal downtime or risk. You might not be a good candidate for PRP if you have certain bleeding or clotting disorders. PRP will not trigger a reaction from your body and works well alone or with other treatments.

I am currently undergoing a series of laser treatments with Kinsey and I couldn’t be more pleased. She is professional and always sets me at ease. I highly recommend Rejuve.
