Restylane® provides instant and long-lasting wrinkle correction. It is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler which restores volume and fullness to skin. This multi-use product line corrects fine to moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds of all types, from the fine lines around the lips to deep nasolabial folds.

A highly versatile filler, Restylane® is also used to increase fullness and enhance the lips, define the lip line, fill scars and plump up facial areas that have lost their youthful appearance.

1. What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a protein already present in the body. Injectable Restylane® is used to replace, or 'fill in' the volume one loses to the collagen layer of the skin naturally with aging. The most common areas treated with Restylane® are the frown lines between the eyes, the nasolabial folds (the depressions that run alongside the nose), and lip lines. The effect is smoothed facial wrinkles, facial scars, and skin depressions. This is not a permanent solution, however, as it only lasts three to six months, and is then absorbed by the body naturally..
2. How long is recovery after injecting Restylane®?
After injection, some swelling is to be expected, but pain medication is not necessary. Clients can return to work and normal activities immediately.
3. What is Restylane® made of?
Restylane® is the first and only cosmetic dermal filler made of non-animal-based hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that already exists in the human body and is used to provide volume and fullness to the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA , or Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is biodegradable and completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.

5. How long does Restylane® last?
The average treatment lasts between three and six months.
6. What should clients do prior to treatment?
Clients should avoid taking aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John's Wort, or high doses of Vitamin E supplements for one week prior to treatment. This will help to minimize any bruising or bleeding at the injection site.
7. How is Restylane® different than other hyaluronic acid-based products?
Unlike other hyaluronic acid-based products, such as those made from rooster combs, only Restylane® is non-animal-based. This quality virtually eliminates any risk of animal-based disease transmission or allergic reaction.

Yes! Restylane® has been used safely since 1996 worldwide. Because Restylane® is non-animal-based and fully biocompatible, allergy testing is not required. Restylane® lasts twice as long as collagen, so treatments are typically scheduled twice a year. Evidence shows that having a touch-up treatment before the product has fully dissipated will enhance the lasting effect.

15. How is Restylane® different from BOTOX ® cosmetic?
Restylane® is a natural, cosmetic filler. In contrast, BOTOX® cosmetic is a drub that blocks nerve transmission and relaxes the underlying muscles. Many clients have been very pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
